I WISH I KNEW SOONER
👋 Good morning.
Yesterday 56% of you said you hit your ChatGPT limit at least once in a while. So for most of you, AI sometimes runs out before the workday does. Netflix is now testing AI for the evening: a TV tab that starts with your mood instead of a search box. Picking a show might finally take less time than the show.
IN 3 MINUTES, GET 1% BETTER THAN EVERYONE YOU KNOW:
Netflix’s new AI tab picks by mood, not genre.
Google’s AI now coaches homework instead of doing it.
Patch your Linux server: one open port is enough.
The fonts behind famous logos, plus five design galleries.
Google results without the AI box, in one tap.

Netflix is testing AI Discover, a new tab on its TV app for a small group of members, per Netflix. You pick a theme like “Scare Me” or “Quick Watches,” each previewed with a clip, then narrow down or hit “Something Different.” A “Tune Your Recommendations” button sits next to Play, and Discover remembers anything you reject. It starts in the US, in English, on supported TVs, and widens over the coming weeks.
Do this: if “Discover” with a red gem shows up in your TV’s top menu, try “Quick Watches” on a 20-minute night.
An algorithm that asks how your day went.
How long does it usually take you to pick something to watch?
Guided Learning is Google’s tutor mode: it asks questions instead of handing over answers. It’s now live worldwide in Google Classroom when a teacher assigns it, per Google. A pilot brings it to Search in select US schools later this month. Google will also switch Gemini and Search off for K-12 student accounts until a school turns them on. A school that does nothing loses Search too, per 9to5Google. Google says Search can come back without Gemini, per NBC News.
Do this: try Guided Learning in the Gemini app on something you’ve been nodding along to in meetings.

Homework help, now with mandatory homework.
Rent a small server (a VPS) for a bot or an AI-built app? A Linux bug its maintainers rate 9.8 out of 10 can let attackers in with no password. Anthropic says an unreleased Claude model built a working takeover in about 53 minutes, per BleepingComputer. Ubuntu’s fix was still in progress yesterday, per its tracker. Macs are safe, and no attacks are reported yet. levelsio keeps every port (a server’s door to the internet) closed.
Do this: ask ChatGPT or Claude, “How do I check that my server is patched for CVE-2026-98432, and update it?”
Your side project just got its first chore.

1. 🔤 Font In Logo · free to browse · web
Font In Logo names the typeface behind famous logos, from Tesla and Netflix to Airbnb, and flags whether each match is verified. Put that name in your next AI design prompt instead of “make it look like Tesla.” The catch: many brand fonts are paid, so ask your AI for a free lookalike.
2. 🎨 Viktor Oddy’s design galleries · free to browse · web
Viktor Oddy’s list for designing with AI also has Land-book, Landdding and Godly for landing pages and award sites, Recent for inspiration and 60fps for app animations. Screenshot a section you like and ask Claude to describe its layout, fonts and colors for your builder. The catch: the list also plugs MotionSites, his own paid prompt library.

🔍 Get plain Google results without the AI box · Google Search · free
Google’s help page says AI Overviews can’t be turned off, but it also points to the filter that skips them. After you search, pick “Web” and you get only text links, with no AI summary on top.
Search, then tap Web under the search bar. On a computer, it may sit under More.
The catch: it doesn’t stick, so a fresh search from your address bar brings the AI box back, and Web hides images and maps too.
Ten blue links, back from retirement.
