👋 Hello hello,

Google just found a way to make you feel a little guilty about that ebook you bought and never finished. Meanwhile Anthropic gave Claude its own browser inside Cowork, so it can go handle the tab-clicking parts of your job while you do literally anything else. And Google Flow picked up start and end frame controls, which sounds boring until you realize it's the exact thing separating "AI slop" from footage you'd actually use.

🚨🚨Have you registered for today’s session? It’s happening in a couple hours! We’ve been told these are too good to miss!🚨🚨

Okay, let’s get into it.

🔥🔥🔥 Three Exclusive AI Updates

Google launched Expert Intelligence, a cross-product initiative that lets you drop eligible ebooks straight from your Google Play Books account into Gemini Notebook. Instead of Gemini guessing based on whatever it absorbed in training, it grounds answers in the actual text of a book you own.

It only works with books you purchased through Play Books, and if you share a notebook with someone who doesn't own the title, they'll just see a locked source and a prompt to buy it. Google says the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search are next, plus support for research reports and textbooks down the line.

Anthropic added a built-in browser to Claude Cowork's desktop app. When a task involves a website, a separate browser pane opens in the side panel and Claude navigates, fills out forms, and reads pages while you keep working in your own tabs.

This browser is separate from your personal Chrome, Safari, or Edge. Claude can't see your history, bookmarks, or saved passwords unless you deliberately sign in inside it. It runs the same safety checks as Claude in Chrome, meaning permission requests before it acts on a new site and blocks on high-risk pages.

It's rolling out over the coming week to Pro, Max, and Team plans on macOS, Windows, and Linux, and it's already live for Enterprise. If you're already using Claude in Chrome, that stays your default.

Flow's latest update, shipped through Gemini Omni 1.1, adds start and end frame controls so you can lock in how a clip begins and ends and let Flow handle a consistent transition between them. That's an effective fix for the "AI video that randomly morphs into something else" problem.

You can also draft at a cheaper, faster 360p resolution to test an idea before committing credits to a full render, then export finished clips at 1080p or 4K for actual broadcast or social use. You can try it out here.

🔥🔥 Two AI Tools Worth Knowing

1. 🔍 Lenz

An AI fact-checking API built for teams that can't afford their product to hallucinate. It runs claims through a multi-model adversarial pipeline and returns a sourced verdict with the full citation trail, not just a yes or no.

It's already cited by tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini, and it plugs directly into Claude, Cursor, n8n, and Zapier. Best for anyone shipping AI-generated content or answers where being wrong is expensive.

A free, hosted MCP server that connects QuickBooks Online directly to Claude, Cowork, Codex, or ChatGPT.

Once connected, you can ask your agent to run reports, identify a missing transaction, batch-enter invoices, or categorize expenses, and it works inside your actual books. You don't have to be a Meridian customer, just a need a QuickBooks Online account. This is also apparently the plugin every accountant we've talked to swears by so it is worth a try for sure.

🔥 One Chart Worth Watching

  • Anthropic now leads OpenAI in enterprise adoption by 2.9 percentage points, at 42.4% versus 39.5%, and that gap is widening month over month, not shrinking.

  • Here's the part everyone's been arguing about: Adoption of Chinese and open-source models, tracked through model-serving platforms, is up from 4.5% of AI-spending businesses in January to 5.8% in June.

  • That sounds like a real shift until you look at who's actually using them. These are the most AI-intensive companies in the data, spending roughly 23 times the median business on AI overall. And 96.4% of them are still using OpenAI or Anthropic too.

Our read on this is that cheaper Chinese models aren't stealing customers from the big labs, they're getting added on top by companies that are already deep into AI spend. If you've been worried DeepSeek or Alibaba's models are about to eat into Claude or GPT's market share, this data says not yet, and maybe not the way people expect.
