Anthropic announced yesterday that Claude’s voice mode works with Apple CarPlay on iPhone, though the app has been live since September, per 9to5Mac. The fresher news is voice on iOS and Android that answers sooner and hears you better in a noisy room. ChatGPT’s CarPlay app has been there since March, on every plan. Neither can control your car, and ChatGPT can’t see your maps or location.
Do this: Set it up before you pull out, then say your city and ask which theaters have seats tonight.

OpenAI’s dot agent now works over iMessage or RCS, and it can text you first with updates, per OpenAI’s release notes. Only you can text your dot, and it can only text you. Set it up in the desktop app, and reply STOP to end its texts. It’s a limited beta for some Pro users in the US, not Business or Enterprise. Texts run through a third-party provider, so OpenAI says to be careful with sensitive info.
Do this: If you have it, text your dot one thing you keep forgetting to check, like a flight price or an unpaid invoice.
It’s the only coworker who reads your texts and never leaves you on read.
Ask Gemini for a PDF, Doc, Sheet, deck, text file or code, then preview it in the chat and expand it to type edits yourself, per Google. Highlight a part to ask a question or request a change, like turning a table into a graph, per The Verge. It’s open to all Gemini users. On mobile only PDFs work, and everything else is web-only.
Do this: Upload a photo of your handwritten meeting notes, ask for “a one-page PDF summary,” then highlight the weakest paragraph and say “tighten this.”

Across 74 countries, the 10 most common work tasks fell from an average 56.0% of each country’s classified work messages in Q1 2025 to 51.1% in Q3 2026, per OpenAI Signals data (Oct 26) on 165 work activities. People are using ChatGPT for a wider mix of jobs, and countries are specializing differently. It covers individual plans, not enterprise or Codex, and it’s OpenAI’s own data.
Do this: Open the interactive chart, pick your country and see which activities are rising, because the ones missing are your edge.
