THINGS YOU DIDN'T KNOW YOU CAN DO WITH AI

I WISH I KNEW SOONER
👋 Good morning.
On Friday, 53% of you said you haven’t talked to an AI while driving, but you’d try it.
Apple says the new assistant inside Keynote, Pages and Numbers will “change the game.” The fine print says $12.99 a month and US English only. Your deck finally has a coworker, as long as it speaks American.
IN 3 MINUTES, GET 1% BETTER THAN EVERYONE YOU KNOW:
Let Keynote, Pages and Numbers do the first draft.
Ask Gemini if your running is actually getting better.
Steal Karpathy’s 2-hour fix for a bad feed.
Scan a room in 3D, then un-AI your site.
Get AI drafts that sound like you.
3 Did you see
Creator Studio subscribers now get an assistant that reads the file you have open, built on Apple’s models and OpenAI’s, per Apple. It designs slides, restructures drafts and suggests charts. The beta began rolling out Oct 22, per MacRumors, and November’s update lets outside AI tools like ChatGPT edit those files on macOS 27 through a connector called MCP. It needs an Apple Intelligence device, and the basic apps stay free.
Do this: Open last quarter’s numbers in Numbers and ask which chart tells the story, then have Keynote turn it into three slides.
Slide 14 now has someone else to blame.
Would you let an AI assistant build your next slide deck?
Strava is now a connected app in Gemini, per Strava. US Strava subscribers on any Gemini plan can link it under Personal Intelligence, then ask “Am I getting faster at the same heart rate?” or “How much did the heat slow me down on Saturday’s long run?” The link is optional and read-only.
Do this: Connect it and ask for a one-paragraph monthly check-in on your volume, consistency and pace.
Your watch now has someone to brag to.
This weekend, annoyed with YouTube’s recommendations, Andrej Karpathy had Claude filter 43M Hacker News comments from 20 years down to the 6,454 videos people keep recommending, per his post. The result, HackerTube, needs no login and took about 2 hours. He says he only talked to Claude, apart from a Google Cloud key, a rented server and the domain. The data is one zip file, so you can point your own Claude at it.
Do this: Pick one feed that annoys you and ask Claude to sort it by what people you trust recommend.
The algorithm just got replaced by 20 years of people arguing in the comments.
2 things you didn't know you can do with AI
1. 🏠 Scan a room with your iPhone and get a measured 3D model · SpAItial Echo-3 · iPhone · first month free
SpAItial’s Echo-3 turns a few minutes with your iPhone into a 3D copy of a space at real-world scale, with no tripod or extra camera. It fills in what you missed, which beats sending 40 photos of a room you’re about to renovate. The catch: after the free month, Standard is $49.99 a month for about 25 non-commercial scan minutes.
2. 🧹 Scrub the purple gradient off your AI-built page · unslop · Claude Code, Codex · free
unslop is a free skill (saved instructions your coding agent follows) that audits a screen for AI tells like purple gradients, glows, emoji labels and shouty copy, then fixes it pass by pass. It even works on a live site from a link. The catch: it runs in Claude Code or Codex, so you need to be building with AI already.
1 I wish I knew sooner
Nat Eliason’s AI writing system cut his edits to 3%, and two of three posts in his latest batch went out with zero words changed, per his X article. Steal two rules: ban only words you never use (he’d written “Imagine” 18 times), and cap the AI at 3 rounds of top-3 fixes, because more sands the voice flat.
Try this: Paste 10 of your best emails into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini and ask: “Write a one-page voice guide from these: how I open, how long my sentences run, how I end, and words I never use.” Attach it to every draft.
The catch: his 3% took about 44,000 words of his writing and rounds of his own edits, so 10 emails is a start.
Your AI ghostwriter is only as good as the homework you hand it.
